Upcoming Primaries

Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders continued their push for the nomination ahead of primaries in six states that will be held Tuesday.

Why are the Democratic primary elections on March 10th, 2020, significant for the overall trajectory of the race, and what could the outcomes of these contests mean for Super Tuesday?

On March 10th, six critical states are voting in the Democratic primary elections: Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, and Washington. The two leading candidates, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, have been holding rallies to drum up support ahead of these crucial contests.

With Sanders having won big in Nevada and Biden having pulled off a stunning upset in South Carolina, both candidates are eager to continue building momentum. These primaries will be a pivotal moment in the race, as they could potentially determine who will be the frontrunner heading into Super Tuesday.

Sanders held a rally in downtown Detroit, Michigan, on Friday, March 6th, where he spoke to a crowd of thousands about his platform and vision for the country. He highlighted the importance of policies such as Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and free college education. Sanders also spoke about the need to expand voting rights and strengthen the power of workers.

Biden held his own rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on the same day, where he emphasized his record of getting things done as Vice President under Barack Obama. Biden spoke about his plans to build on the Affordable Care Act, implement environmental protections, and invest in infrastructure. He also called for unity in the Democratic Party and emphasized the need to defeat Donald Trump in the general election.

The two candidates are also focusing on Washington state, which has the second-highest number of delegates up for grabs on March 10th. Sanders held a rally in Tacoma on Friday, March 6th, where he spoke about his support for workers’ rights and environmental protections. Biden held his own rally in Seattle on the same day, where he talked about his plans to invest in infrastructure and increase access to healthcare.

The other four states voting on March 10th are also important battlegrounds for the candidates. Sanders has been focusing on Mississippi, where he held a rally in Jackson on March 7th, while Biden has been campaigning heavily in Missouri, where he held a rally in St. Louis on March 7th.

Overall, the upcoming primaries could have a significant impact on the Democratic primary race, as they are some of the last major contests before the crucial Super Tuesday showdown on March 17th. With Sanders and Biden neck and neck in the polls, it remains to be seen who will come out on top in these critical states.
