Pres. Trump Cries ‘Bullsh*t’ As New Details Reported On Ukraine Aid Freeze – Day That Was | MSNBC

The next phase of the impeachment hearings are set to begin next Wednesday, as the House Judiciary Committee drafts and debates articles of impeachment against President Trump.

The New York Times is reporting Tuesday that the president knew of the whistleblower complaint when he released the aid to Ukraine. And new deposition transcripts show that the order to freeze aid has a paper trail that leads back to the president.

On Monday, September 23, President Donald Trump became unmistakably agitated during a press conference at the United Nations in New York City, when questioned about his administration’s decision to freeze $391 million in military aid to Ukraine.

This major accusation from President Trump comes as new details were reported on the Ukraine aid freeze; while the President vehemently dismisses the accusations, these developments increase scrutiny surrounding his dealings within the Ukraine scandal.

The reported events suggest that President Trump has sought to gain political leverage by withholding aid that would support the Ukraine government against aggression from anti-government forces, a group the Trump Administration views as backed by Russia.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been heavily documented over the last several years, but this latest twist adds to growing concerns about the motives of the Trump Administration in terms of their alliances and allegiances.

In an effort to divert attention from the recently reported events, President Trump held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the side-lines of the General Assembly meeting, where he claimed that there was nothing to worry about.

Furthermore, America’s top diplomat, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was present at the meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky; while the official reason for his presence was to support efforts to advance democratic values and shared interests, speculation abounds about other ulterior motives.

Many critics of the Trump Administration have pointed out the above circumstances as evidence of the Administration’s lack of transparency and disregard for ethical procedures.

As the scandal continues to build and further shake the American political scene, it is certain that it will remain a topic of debate and investigation for the foreseeable future. As the days progress, it becomes increasingly difficult to deny the mounting evidence against President Trump and the implications that such evidence could have on American politics and global diplomacy.
