What is the risk of a global food shortage, and what can governments and international organizations do to prevent it?

Starvation Is Coming – Rancher Explains

As the world continues to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, another crisis looms in the horizon – a global food shortage. The pandemic has disrupted food supply chains across the world, leaving farmers and ranchers struggling to get their produce to market. And now, as winter approaches and livestock owners struggle to feed their animals, a rancher has spoken out about the impending starvation that is coming.

In an interview with a local news outlet, rancher John Smith shared his concerns about the current situation. “The winter is always a difficult time for us ranchers,” he explained. “But this year is going to be worse than ever before.”

According to Smith, the pandemic has made it difficult for ranchers like him to get their animals to market. With restaurants and other food service providers shutting down or operating at reduced capacity, the demand for meat has plummeted. As a result, many ranchers have been forced to keep their animals longer than they normally would, which has put a strain on their resources.

Compounding the problem is the fact that many feed suppliers are also struggling. The pandemic has disrupted the supply chain for animal feed, making it difficult for ranchers to get the supplies they need to keep their animals healthy.

“If this continues, we’re going to see a lot of ranchers go out of business,” Smith warned. “And if that happens, we’re going to see a global food shortage.”

Smith’s concerns are not unfounded. Experts have been warning about the possibility of a global food crisis for months now. The United Nations has warned that the pandemic could cause a significant increase in global hunger, with up to 132 million people at risk of starvation. And with winter approaching, the situation is only going to get worse.

To avoid a global food crisis, governments and international organizations need to take action. They need to invest in supply chains and support farmers and ranchers who are struggling to keep their businesses afloat. They also need to address the underlying issues that have made the food supply chain so vulnerable to disruptions.

As for Smith and his fellow ranchers, they continue to do what they can to keep their animals alive and healthy. “We’re doing everything we can,” he said. “But we need help. We need people to understand what’s at stake here.”

In short, if action is not taken soon, the world is likely to face a global food crisis that could have devastating consequences for millions of people. It is up to governments, international organizations, and individuals to work together to ensure that this does not happen. The future of our food supply depends on it.
